Apple seeks to recover Fortnite from the App Store

Apple wants Fortnite back if Epic removes the in-app purchase system

Despite all the legal issues between Epic Games and Apple, Apple is looking for ways to get Fortnite back on the App Store. Apple will allow Fortnite to return to the App Store if Epic Games removes the in-app purchase options they recently added to the Fortnite Store before the release of Chapter 2 Season 4. Courts recently ruled that Apple would reinstate Epic developer accounts, but the court was also in favor of Apple kicking Fortnite out of the App Store. Fortnite is available now for PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC and Mobile.

Apple seeks to recover Fortnite from the App Store

โ€œOur very first priority is to ensure App Store users have a great experience in a safe and trusted environment, including iPhone users who play Fortnite and are eagerly awaiting the next season of the gameโ€ , Apple said following a recent court ruling. "We agree with Judge Gonzalez-Rogers that 'the sensible way to proceed' is for Epic to comply with the 'App Store' guidelines and continue operating as the case progresses. If Epic takes the action recommended by the judge, we will gladly welcome Fortnite to iOS. We look forward to presenting our case to court in September. ยป

Although Apple is offering Epic Games this way to get out of the predicament that Fortnite currently finds itself in, Epic Games doesn't seem interested in changing the in-app purchase options on their store. Epic Games has already told Fortnite fans on iOS that they won't be able to participate in the season and the company blames Apple accordingly. With Chapter 2 Season 4 fast approaching, Fortnite appears to be in limbo on the mobile platform.
