Epic Games will help Fortnite players 'make up for lost'

Fortnite players were at an impasse yesterday. Fans from different parts of the world could not connect. Some even had to wait in long queues only to have to wait longer once the countdown was over. As a result, Epic Games had to shut down the game's servers.

"We continue to work on a fix that will bring Fortnite back online and appreciate everyone's patience," they wrote on social media.

The Fortnite community initially had issues when trying to log in. She also had matchmaking issues around noon yesterday. Soon it became apparent to everyone that the problem needed a major fix. That said, the developers had to completely shut down the servers. It took them several hours to finally fix the problem.

The game is back online, much to the delight of fans of the franchise. However, some gamers weren't happy that they missed their daily dose of the Battle Royale game. Fortunately for those affected by the downtime, Epic has promised that they will make up for any lost time.

"We appreciate everyone's understanding as we work to resolve these issues," the developers added. “We will have more details next week on what we are doing to help you make up for lost time. "

Fortnite fans don't know what this type of compensation will be. Some are hoping Epic could reference Supercharged XP for at least a day or more. Others hope that the developers could also add free content as a gesture of goodwill. After all, it's not beyond Epic to be overly generous during the holiday season. They've already been very generous with their Winterfest 2021 giveaways.
