Fortnite and Smash Bros were the two best Switch downloads of 2019
Nintendo recently released the top 25 downloaded Nintendo Switch titles of 2019 and some will surprise you while others will be expected. The top three spots belong to Fortnite, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and Minecraft respectively. Considering Fornite is a free-to-play title and is hugely popular around the world, it's no shock that it's in the top three, while Smash Bros. Ultimate is the essential group-battling game to own on the hybrid console. Despite the new generation of Pokémon only launching in November 2019, it quickly rose to the top fifteen downloads. These numbers include Switch Lite and Nintendo Switch owners and if you're looking for quality titles to get for the platform, this list has several you should check out in 2020.

While we considered the Untitled Goose game an industry-developed gem, we didn't expect the title to get enough attention on the Nintendo Switch to outpace titles like Fire Emblem and recent Pokemon games. . Apparently, Cadence of Hyrule has made gamers invest more in the Crypt of the NecroDancer series, given that both of their rhythm titles for the platform are represented in the top 25. A title distinctly absent from this list although it either the best-selling Switch game is Mario Kart 8 Deluxe which may be declining in popularity since the release of Mario Kart Tour.
