How to catch the Barreleye in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

One of the new fish that has been added to Animal Crossing: New Horizons is the Barreleye. This fish is worth 15000 bells, which makes it a very attractive good for the islanders. If you need to do a few bells quickly, catching a barreleye is a good way to go.

To find the Barreleye, you'll need to search for fish spawning grounds in the sea. The Barreleye has a medium-sized shadow, but that doesn't guarantee you'll catch it, as many fish share this shadow size. The Barreleye will be available to fish from 21 p.m. to 4 a.m. year-round.

So, to recap:

Northern hemisphere

  • fish in the sea
  • Medium sized shade
  • 21 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • All year-round

Southern hemisphere

  • fish in the sea
  • Medium sized shade
  • 21 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • All year-round

Fish Bait is an item that will prove very useful in your quest to catch the Barreleye or any other fish. Be sure to bring some with you when you plan to fish, as it will make more fish.
