Since Hi-Rez restructured the Paladins progression system in early 2020, grinding out the battle pass has become a much more deliberate and manageable task. Prior to the change, completing the battle pass and securing all shiny cosmetics was just a matter of grinding. You had to log in daily and put hundreds of hours into the game to even hope to complete it, methodically completing all unlocked challenges to speed up the process.
The new system is easier to use as all challenges are unlocked from the start. This makes completing the Paladins battle pass a matter of planning, and there's an easy way to maximize your progress.
To get started, go to the list of challenges at the top of the battle pass screen and go through the entire list to see what you need to do to get the most EXP quickly. Then try to combine your objectives so that you can complete several challenges at the same time.
For example, it is a combination of challenges on the
Darkness and Dragons Paladins Battle
to pass:
- Play 10 matches with Furia
- Heal 25 in one match
- Play an Onslaught match
- Play 10 assault matches
As you can see, there's nothing stopping you from completing all four challenges - and potentially others - together. And this system applies to all Paladins the battle passes. At the current rate that Hi-Rez releases them, we expect to get six battle passes per year.
But what about the premium track? After all, this is where the spiciest battle content lives. The good news is that with a bit of patience, you can unlock the premium track just by playing. This is because the battle pass restructuring has moved daily crystal rewards to the free track. Currently, completing two battle passes earns you the 600 crystals needed to purchase the next battle pass' premium track. And completing the premium title gives you enough crystals to buy the next one, and so on.
