Humanity releases its first major DLC: Cultures of Africa

Cultures of Africa DLC expands the universe of humanity

After its release last year, Humankind drew many comparisons to Civilization, Sid Meier's turn-based strategy games. It was even touted as a possible "Civ-killer", directly competing with Civilization games and improving and expanding some of their aspects. Now the game is back with its first major content update.

Humanity releases its first major DLC: Cultures of Africa

Although Mankind shares many of the same characteristics as its historical 4X strategy counterpart, it has a few key differences. It is primarily Humankind's focus on diverse cultures that has set it apart from others in the genre.

Rather than letting players stick to one culture while playing, players are encouraged to grow and choose new cultures. The 60 cultures featured in the game provide a wide variety of choices and ways to play.

The 4X strategy game gets even deeper today with the latest content release: the Cultures of Africa DLC. This DLC will add six African cultures to the game. They are Bantu, Garamant, Swahili, Maasai, Ethiopian, and Nigerian. Each represents a different era and comes with its own set of highlights.

In addition to these new cultures, Amplitude Studios offers the game seven independent people and 15 narrative events. Humanity also adds new wonders of the world from Africa. These include Mount Kilimanjaro, Victoria Falls, Zuma Rock, Lake Natron and the Great Mosque of Djenne.

Therefore, the game's first major update promises to add a lot of things for players to explore. The Cultures of Africa DLC will be available on January 20. How did you enjoy your experience playing Humankind? Let us know in the comments below or on Twitter or Facebook.
