Fortnite's long tradition of crossover with just about every popular IP continues. They called Avengers: Infinity War the most ambitious crossover, but who knew Fortnite would be such a big part of this event? The Avengers and Fortnite have shared events four times already, five if you count NoobMaster69's appearance in Endgame. On-screen and in-game events between franchises were a big part of the Russo Brothers' partnership with Epic Games, but now it's gone beyond that with the inclusion of Marvel's Avengers content from Crystal Dynamics and Square. Yesterday, Crystal Dynamics hosted the second War Table showcase for Marvel's Avengers, which revealed content for the beta and post-launch. Turns out players can unlock special content in Fortnite by playing the Marvel's Avengers beta on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One. By playing and completing all three challenges in the HARM room, players will receive special Hulk and Hulkbuster fist-shaped pickaxes for free. Of course, to play the beta you need to pre-order Marvel's Avengers or wait for the open beta between August 21-23. In order to successfully receive these cross bonuses, you will need to ensure that your Xbox Live/PlayStation account is linked to your Epic Games account and then link your Epic Games account to your Square Enix account.
If you're not going to be playing the beta on consoles, but still want these special pickaxes, they will be available for purchase at a later date. Until then, they will be exclusive to beta players. Earlier this month, Captain America joined Fortnite in a solo venture for July 4th. Although the timing of these crossovers seems close enough to be related in a major way, they are likely coincidental. Marvel's Avengers will be released on September 4 on PC, Stadia, Xbox One and PS4. Fortnite is available on PC, Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and mobile.
