Skyblock gets a lot of new updates and more resources are added pretty much every week! One of these new additions is the gold you can mine and get by killing certain monsters. We take a look at all the ways to get gold in Skyblock with this guide.
How to get gold
Getting gold is very similar to getting gears. So you'll have to head to the Adventurer's Portal, but to an additional island that now exists after Slime's!
First, you need to create yourself a sword. You just need 20x Wood for this, so it's not too hard to acquire. Make sure you have it with it and head through the purple portal on your island to the vendor area. Go to the mine area and you will see an adventurer vendor next to a portal that looks like this:
Talk to the vendor and you can purchase a Slime Island Key for 200 coins. Once you have this key, you can walk through the portal! Keep in mind that once you leave Slime Island, you will need to purchase another key to return.
Now that you are on the island that spawns mud, you will need to look for another purple portal that is on the other side. This is the new accessible island, which contains ore that you can mine. There's also the new Buffalkor Mob appearing here. It is a buffalo like monster that is fused with ore that can be killed. These monsters will sometimes drop gold, so you can send them over and over again to hopefully find some.
This is not the only way to get gold, you can also find gold veins appearing in this area. It's a rare spawn, but you can mine the ore and stone that spawns on this island to encourage a gold to spawn. This is the much more reliable way to get it because monsters take forever to kill with your wooden sword. Just mine them again and again until you get a gold to display. Keep going until you have all the gold you need!
There is no gold totem yet, but hopefully there will be one in a future update.
Uses of gold
You can currently craft advanced weapons and tools with gold. There are now gold items that require gold to craft. These include a golden axe, a pick, and a steel hammer. You will need to craft a Golden Steel Rod to craft each one which requires 20 Gold. The tools themselves also require additional gold, so it can be a bit pricey for the amount of gold you need. You can also use gold to create gold blocks if you want to highlight or highlight a particular part of your island.
