What's going on with Fortnite's black hole screen?

The ending of Fortnite Season 10 saw the entire map sink into a black hole, which is now the only thing left of the popular Battle Royale game.

The missiles fell on open pits which caused a chain reaction and essentially locked everyone out of the Fortnite client apart from showing the small moving circle of light that now represents the rest of the old world. It now only remains the moving image with soft music, only showing an exit option for players to leave once they have had enough.

This is all supposed to lead to some kind of gradual relaunch of the game, introducing what will likely be a completely new map along with other changes to how the game is played. This huge shift fits Epic Games' typical strategic plan with the game since innovation has kept it at the top for so long.

No matter what happens, it will likely be shown that we will soon emerge from the Dark Void, but the confusion and growing excitement caused by this strange occurrence continues to build as the game seems to fade away. There is currently no timeline for another change, but the next step in Fortnite is coming soon.
