How to evolve Debugant into Kicklee, Kapoera or Tygnon in Pokemon Sword and Shield

In Pokémon Sword and Shield, many Pokémon have different requirements to evolve them. Some require certain items or need to level up during a specific time of day. Debugant, the Fighting-type Pokémon, has unique requirements and three different evolutions: Kicklee, Kapoera, and Tygnon.

First, you need to capture a Debugant. It won't take you too long as you can encounter him early in the game. The two notable locations you can find are both in the Wild Area, Rolling Fields, and South Lake Miloch. A Debugant will appear in all weather conditions.

After capturing your Debugger, you'll want to check the Pokémon's stats to find out which track it goes on when it levels up. Unlike other Pokémon, a Debugger evolves into one of its three evolutions based on its stats.

    • If the attack is greater than its defense, it becomes a Kicklee.
    • If the attack is lower than its defense, it becomes a Tygnon.
    • If attack and defense are equal, it becomes a Kapoera

Debugant evolves after level 20, so you still have to influence the differences. You can alter their stats in a number of ways, for example, by using the feathers you find on the Route 5 bridge shortly after defeating the first Gym Leader, Milo.

To increase Debugant's attack, you need the Muscle Feather. To improve its defense, you need the Resist Feather.

When you capture the Debugant, check its summary page and go to the Pokemon's stats section, which should be the second choice when examining the Pokemon. There will be a graph detailing his various stats. When you're here, click the "X" button on your Switch. A yellow ring should replace the usual stats. This information details how a Pokémon progresses and becomes stronger with each level.

If the Torgue's stats move in the direction of offense or defense you want, you don't have to worry about The Feathers. However, if you wish to have a Kapoera, you will need to use the feathers to get these numbers lined up.
