Pokémon GO Fest 2022 has arrived. This celebration promises to be one of the most important of the year for Pokémon GO players. The event will span two days packed with features, including but not limited to new Shiny Pokemon, new Raid Bosses, new Special Research, and new Legendary Pokemon.
Most Pokémon GO Fest 2022 mimics the 2021 event, but Special Research works a little differently this year. On Saturday, June 4, 2022, ticket holders will have a choice in which special research branch they wish to continue. There are three options, Catch, Fight and Explore. It is important to note that this special search is exclusive to ticket holders and players without a ticket will not be able to participate.
What's changing with each special research path at Pokémon GO Fest 2022?
The only difference between the three branches is the quest requirement that will be given to players. Players will receive the same rewards and encounters throughout the Special Research, but the tasks will be tied to the chosen branch. All of these Special Research tasks will allow players to encounter the Mythical Pokemon Shaymin in its Earth form.

The Catch branch gives players more tasks around catching Pokémon, such as catching a certain number of Pokémon or using a certain number of berries to catch Pokémon. The Explore branch tasks players with exploring their surroundings, completing quests like spinning a certain number of PokéStops or walking a certain distance. The Battle branch asks players to complete tasks like defeating a certain number of Team GO Rocket Grunts or winning a certain number of Raids.
