Pokemon Sword and Shield have some fascinating mechanics when it comes to evolving a specific Pokemon. While many of them simply need to reach a certain level, some may need particular items or even a special activity to complete to trick them into advancing to the next form. Sepiatop belongs to the latter category and this one is certainly interesting.
How to Evolve Sepiatop in Pokemon Sword and Shield
The first thing you will need is your Sepiatop. Head to Route 7 and you'll find Sepiatop spawning grounds there in all weathers. When you catch him, you will need to level him up to level 30. Everything is perfectly normal so far.
Where it gets a little weird is what you have to do when Sepiatop reaches level 30. Once the fight is over, Sepiatop gets EXP, get ready to act. As soon as you receive the message “Sepiatop has reached level 30”, you must flip your switch and press the A button.
It's worth knowing ahead of time if you're playing with your Switch in the Dock. Might be worth playing in handheld mode while leveling Sepiatop and evolving them. Like I said, Sword and Shield can have some weird ways to evolve your Pokemon, and this method is definitely the weirdest of them all.
