Pokémon GO Day of the Dead 2022 – New Costumed Duskull, Mega Banette, and Origin Giratina Form

Niantic has announced the Día de Muertos celebration for 2022. It's not the only event taking place in November, but this one will bring exclusive costumed variants of the Duskull evolution line and a few other things that players can enjoy. to profit from. The event will run from November 1, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. local time until November 2, 2022 at 20:00 p.m. local time.

First Pokemon

Duskull, Dusclops, and Dusknoir will all have costumes during this event. Pokémon will wear cempasúchil crowns to celebrate Día de Muertos. These variants have never been seen in the game before, so players should make sure to grab them while they're around. Duskull can be caught in the wild, from Field Research, Incense, or Raids during the event, and then evolved into the other two Pokemon.

Event Bonuses

There are a few event bonuses that players can take advantage of during this event. The full list can be found below.

  • Double Candy to catch Pokémon.
  • Incense activated during the event will last for 90 minutes.
  • Decoy Mods activated during the event will last for 90 minutes.

Collection Challenge

There will be a collection challenge for players to complete during the event hours. The Pokémon featured in the Collection Challenge will likely be catchable in the wild, so players should keep their eyes peeled and catch as many Pokémon as possible.

Players can also get new Avatar items from the store during the event. The image above shows some of the items that players can customize their avatars with. These items will cost coins which players can obtain by participating in Gym Battles and hanging onto a Gym for a certain amount of time.
