Guide: Nioh 2 - How to beat Tatarimokke

How do you beat Tatarimokke in Nioh 2? How do you beat the boss in A Way Out mission? You better buckle up, because this is probably the toughest boss fight you've encountered in the Team Ninja follow-up so far, but with persistence, you can overcome it. Here's how to beat Tatarimokke in Nioh 2.

How to beat Tatarimokke in Nioh 2

Recommended Level – 58

Tatarimokke is the gigantic bird-like demon that has been chasing you throughout the main mission in question. He is a very dangerous boss who uses his ability to fly to his advantage, spending as much time in the air as he does on the ground. You'll need to keep one of your fingers above the block button at all times thanks to how quickly he can unleash a few of his attacks.

Play this one very, very carefully. Only engage in a combo if you are sure you have enough stamina to get out of the immediate area without taking a hit afterwards. Deflect the demon's daggers when thrown at you and detonate its laser beam if you feel confident enough. We also recommend summoning another fighter earlier in the level if you're having a lot of trouble with this battle - allowing them to take out some of the damage and agro that would normally be aimed at you.

As always, play carefully early in the game to make sure you don't burn through your healing items too quickly. Try to land a few quick hits before retreating, dodging the strikes he makes with his feet and wings. It's a tactic that should get you into the Dark Realm relatively phase-free, especially if you have a partner by your side.

Here, you're going to want to completely ignore Tatarimokke and focus on the single red orb somewhere in the arena. They perform the same role as their introduction earlier in the level, getting rid of the Dark Realm upon elimination. You'll need at least two full combos to pull them off, so try to avoid taking too much damage as you slowly regain your stamina – we recommend jogging around the battlefield while staying close to the target. While this is happening, the boss will start shooting ghostly spirits at you alongside his normal attacks, much like Enenra. These come with a fair amount of tracking, so be sure to back away when you can.

The boss does not modify its attacks with a second phase, so repeat what you have done in order to slowly lower its health bar again. You'll enter the Dark Realm again before staying there for good – there are no more red orbs to destroy. This means you will have to fight Tatarimokke in the dark with reduced stamina regeneration. It's tough, so play very defensively and only take opportunities that you're sure you can exploit and land a combo. Stick to one or two hits at a time, and eventually, you'll have the boss down for the count.
