The Resident Evil 3 Remake is a rather disappointing sequel to last year's Resident Evil 2, but it doesn't look like that train is stopping any time soon. According to a new set of rumors circulating today from reliable sources, Capcom has yet another remake in development right now. Hosted by support studio Resident Evil 3, the developer is believed to be leading a project aiming for a 2022 release.

Video Games Chronicle originally reported the news, stating, "he is currently working as lead developer on a larger remake project for Capcom." Industry insider Aesthetic Gamer, which has a somewhat positive and reliable track record, expanded on the statement by saying that the game is slated for 2022 and is not a remake of Dino Crisis or Resident Evil: Code Veronica X. Given the year indicated, we would also expect this to be a PlayStation 5 game.

This will be Capcom's 2022 game if all goes well. I will also repeat this: this is not the Code Veronica remake.https://t.co/Yg5Gv921q6— AestheticGamer aka Dusk Golem (@AestheticGamer1) March 30, 2020

So what could it be? Resident Evil 4 might be a good cry, but given the stature of this title, the Japanese developer is going to have to do a lot more work to avoid another Resident Evil 3 situation. At the same time, Capcom has other franchises to which he might call for a remake of a classic. What do you hope this project is? What do you want Capcom to do again next?
