How to build and use an engine in Raft

If you want your raft to go in different directions and change speed, you'll need to build an engine in Raft; here's how and what you'll need.

How to build a raft motor

To build an engine you will first have to unlock it by searching for its blueprint which is inside the wreckage of Vasagatan; however, to find the wreckage you will need to find a radio tower using a receiver.

You can create the receiver using the following resources.

  • Eight boards
  • Six plastic
  • Two circuit boards
  • A hinge

After crafting the receiver, you can use it to find the radio tower, which will reveal the location of the Vasagatan wreckage in your game. When you find the wreckage, you can enter from the back of the ship and at inside you will find the plans you need. Once you get the blueprints, bring them back to a research table to unlock crafting an engine.

After unlocking the engine, you can do so with the following resources

  • Six metal ingots
  • six strings
  • A board of directors
  • 20 boards.

Once you've crafted the motor, you can place it to sail against the wind when you combine it with a steering wheel; If you don't know how to make a steering wheel, you will need the following resources.

  • 10 Debris
  • Ingot of four metals
  • four strings
  • two bolts
  • Two hinges

That said, once you've built and placed both items on your raft, you'll be able to circle the ocean and get to places faster; however, make sure you have enough planks or biofuel to power the engine, as you will need it to power the engine.
