To craft a scarecrow in Stardew Valley, you will first need to level your farming skill to level one, which will unlock the crafting recipe for crafting basic scarecrows. Once you reach level one in farming, you can craft a scarecrow with the following materials listed below.



  • 50 Wood: You can get wood by chopping trees and logs on and off your farm with an axe.
  • A coal: you can get coal by scrapping, mining rocks, treasure chests and using coal furnace etc.
  • 20 Fiber: You can get fiber by destroying grass with a scythe on and off your farm.

To use a Scarecrow in Stardew Valley, you'll simply have to place one on the ground near your crops; the radius of the scarecrow is about 248 titles, so if you were to place it in the middle of your plowed field, you would cover the entire area where you placed your crops.
