Assassin's Creed Valhalla's Map Size Is A Little Bigger Than Odyssey's, Says Ubisoft Dev

One thing you can't argue with about Assassin's Creed Odyssey is its sheer scale. It's an incredibly big game, with a huge map full of things to do and things to see. Sound-wise, Assassin's Creed Valhalla will follow in the giant footsteps of its predecessor.

A French interview between YouTuber Julien Chièze and Ubisoft Montreal producer Julien Laferrière provided insight into the scope of the new game. The interview was translated into English on the game's subreddit. According to this conversion, Laferrière says that the The game's map is "probably a bit larger" than Odyssey's.

"I don't have the exact numbers at this stage, but we not only created the whole country, which in this case is England, but also a good part of Norway," the translation reads. Not to mention the "other secret worlds" which Laferriere says also contributed to the size of the game.

This quote does not match what another Ubisoft employee said recently. Malek Teffaha tweeted to a fan that the game was "neither the longest nor the biggest game in the series", but that has since been taken down. The plot thickens.

We've reached out to Ubisoft to comment on the translated quotes, and will update this story once we hear. For now, it looks like Valhalla could be a massive game. Do you want the next Assassin's Creed one-man odyssey in sheer size? Would you prefer Ubisoft to scale things down for the next sequel? Have your say in the comments section below.
