What are the Distant Lands in Minecraft?

In previous iterations of Minecraft, there was once a weird phenomenon called the Farlands. The Farlands, as they were called, were a terrain bug that occurred when the game's noise generator overflowed.

The bug would also appear at 1 blocks from the player's initial point of appearance. When the error occurred, the game created a strange biome of large cavern clusters into which the player could climb, as shown below.

Since its initial discovery in Minecraft Infdev 20100327, the Farlands would be removed from the game. However, it is still possible to locate the Farlands in the Bedrock version of the game. In the Bedrock version, you can find the Farlands starting to spawn 12 and -550.

From then on, they will continue to generate the biome anomaly almost indefinitely. However, there isn't much in the Farlands other than a weird sight to see, it's also near impossible to get to the location legitimately without teleporting.

In fact, it took players a few years to get there. Nonetheless, the Farlands are still an interesting footnote in the game's story and have even been canonized as a location in the Minecraft Story mode.
